Lead, or a promise to be fulfilled

The lead has an equally important role as the summary, and it is an appropriate incentive . In the first few sentences, it is worth throwing a proverbial “hook” that will catch our reader. A properly aroused curiosity or a promise of revealing secret tricks will certainly encourage the reader to continue reading the text.

Examples:

Are you thinking about changing your dataset car? We’ll tell you where you can buy used cars imported from abroad for the cheapest price.

Want to get rid of unnecessary clothes from your closet? We’ll tell you how to earn extra money on spring cleaning.

Do you want to create an extraordinary terrace arrangement, but your wallet is empty? We will reveal you the secret of how you can change your terrace beyond recognition with your own work!

Making promises in leads requires fulfillment of them later in the text. The credit of trust that the reader gives the author at the very beginning cannot be abused under any circumstances. A disappointed reader will approach our subsequent texts with a great deal of caution or will completely abandon reading them. And yet the point is not for the meeting with him to be fleeting and insignificant, after all we want to establish a longer relationship with him. However, for this to be possible, both parties should benefit from it: the author – interest, the reader – knowledge.

Lead vs. clickbait

For novice authors, it may seem tempting zoho campaigns to create a clickbait lead. This is a technique that will certainly multiply the number of views of a given article, but in the long run it will do more harm than good. However, before we get to this “double-edged” weapon in the creator’s arsenal, it is worth explaining: what is clickbait?

The word comes from English and means: “click” – click and “bait” – lure. This is a procedure that involves encouraging the reader to click and go to the website where the entire text of the article is published with a title, lead or appropriate graphics. Usually, a provocative lead has little to do with the actual content of the article. The role of clickbait is solely to achieve high traffic on the website , thanks to which it gains a higher position in search engine results or greater profits from displaying ads. Very often, such clickbaits are created by portals of an entertainment

Nature or by websites referred to as spam

Shock! The famous presenter XY (here mobile lead the name and surname are mentioned – note) will not appear in the next episodes of the popular program XYZ. Only from us you will find out why we will not see XY on breakfast television.

The conclusion of such articles is usually that the person in question is going on vacation (or is sick) and therefore cannot participate in the recordings. As a result, they will not appear in several episodes of the program.

When a reader realizes that the grandly announced revelations are in fact trivial events, he will certainly feel disappointed. As a result, he will lose trust in the author and will deliberately avoid his website, considering it unreliable. For this very reason, clickbait is a technique that can very quickly turn against the author.
